February, 2014
(Said in dense Russian accent) "In Soviet union, model kit builds you!"
As you might have guessed, February's theme was
Сою́з Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик
Quite a good turn out, given the attednance, but it has to be said, the clear winner of the evening, was Mrs Marshall's Jaffa Cake Cupcakes.
However, t'was a comp night after all, so here are the results...
1st - 1/48 Eduard Polikarpov I-16 Type 24 by Gary Bottoms
2nd - 1/72 Academy Il-2M by Kevin Marshall
3rd - 1/35 Italeri BTR-70 by Bruce Pert

Eduard 1/48 Polikarpov I-16
The diminutive, but very strong Russian fighter (put to the test when it was dropped by it's clumsy owner/builder (me) where upon it bounced off the table completely unharmed!).
Academy 1/72 Shturmovik IL-2
Kevin's little can opener.
1:1 scale Jaffa cake cupcakes
Outright winners every one (especially the two I had), thanks to Mrs M for the frosted delights. It should be noted, Mrs M, that Kevin won't be allowed back unless he has baked goods or iced fancies of some sort with him. So please, Mrs M, won't you think of poor Kevin?!?
